Best Captain Skills for Pushing Hard Stages

Clearing stages is the fastest way to accelerate your power growth. Each stage you clear rewards more gold and quartz for idling. Having the right Captain Skills, in the right order, can make all the difference.

The three best captain skills (in hotbar order) are Light's Protection, Power of Henas, and Magic Summon. Light's Protection unlocks at level 570 -- which may feel like a long way off, but it's barely "midgame."

Light's Protection and Power of Henas mitigate incoming damage and keep your tank alive. Elite mobs that can't hit you don't generate mana, so they don't cast their most powerful spells.

The end-of-stage portal is not cleared by damage, but by the number of hits. This includes basic attacks (1 hit) and active skill attacks (multiple hits). For instance, Nana's active skill hits EIGHT TIMES -- and she is very easy to build into using an active skill after three attacks.

This is why Magic Summon (which is usually absolute garbage) is a critical third Captain skill. It will typically be cast 20-30 seconds into the battle (just before the second wave of monsters spawns), and it puts an extra ally on the field. Remember, their damage doesn't matter; only their hits -- helping to burn down portals just before that deadly second wave.
